The Inlaks Fine Art Award 2026

The Inlaks Fine Art Award enables the recipient to undertake independent work in India for one year, with a stipulation to attend a recognized Art Residency programme for 4 weeks during the year.
Duration and Value
- The Award is worth INR 3,00,000/- for a period of one year.
- Additionally the Awardee will be required to attend an art residency programme within India for a period of four weeks during the course of the year resulting in an open day event.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen, currently residing in India.
- The applicant must be born on or after 1st January 1995.
- The applicant may be a recent graduate/post-graduate or a final year student from a leading Indian institute for visual arts in India.
- If the applicant has applied for the award earlier, they must submit a new body of work if they re-apply.
- In the case of an applicant not having a formal degree in the visual arts, it is desirable that they would have participated in organised art exhibitions.
Exclusion
- No student of a first year master’s programme will be considered.
- Applicant should not be holding a similar/ government scholarship or award during the tenure of the Inlaks Fine Art Award.

Selection Process
The selection procedure consists of two stages:
- Desk screening of applications followed by an online interview of the shortlisted applicants.
- The candidates shortlisted for the interviews will be informed by the last week of October 2025.
- The final interviews will be held online in the first week of November 2025.
Other Details
- The Awardees must submit a detailed interim report at the end of 6 months (mid term ) and a final report at the end of their award term.
- They must also submit a residency report on completion of their residency.
